#20 - Discourse™
A W.I.P. about talking to people!
This newsletter went back and forth. The monthly storm hit and agents flooded any possible corner of any possible platform. At first, we were drawn in.
We started experimenting with N8N, building small automations, testing agent behaviors, trying to understand what was actually happening through the execution of contained experiments with a colony of chatbots. For a moment, we were convinced we should publish our doings.
But the discourse quickly became saturated. Everywhere you looked, there was another headline: the crustacean agent, the exclusive social network populated by agents, agents infiltrating agent communities to report back to humans about:
the language they were developing
the religion they had formed
whether any of it was actually autonomous or quietly human-assisted, which turned out to be a fact
At some point, we wondered whether we were ready to contribute something meaningful — or whether we were already late to a conversation everyone was loudly having. The doubt hit too hard. We stepped back, and decided to offer something else: a preview of a project we’ve been quietly preparing.
Since the beginning of this year, Giga has been developing a side project centered on conversation. Yes, plain simple talk between real people.
We’ve been inviting guests for intimate, off-stage dialogues. It’s not a public panel. There’s no audience. Just a focused exchange with individuals we find compelling, for one reason or another. Naturally, the core subject is technology — and how technology shapes, bends, and reframes culture. We called it Discourse and appended a ™ to make clear our stance on the state of the art of expressing thoughts in 2026.
It’s a series, with epidoes that will unfold throughout the year. We just recorded our first installment with Silvia Dal Dosso, an artist, researcher and writer who has just completed a trilogy of movies begun in 2023 titled The Future is Weird AF.
We’re not ready to release the full conversation yet. But we can tell you this: for ninety minutes, we traveled across Silvia’s obsession with networks. From the physical infrastructure of the internet and the global market — fiber optic cables resting on the ocean floor — to the volatile and invisible networks of funding, patronage, art systems, and AI-generated imagery. All this at TikTok speed. Don’t expect an essay. It’s a conversation on Zoom. Relaxed and remote.
Why do this, you may ask? Because something is happening. And this time it seems different. It feels big in language, in numbers, in velocity and in voices who constantly take part to shape it. With all due humility, we felt the most reasonable way to position ourselves within this moment was simply to talk to people who are navigating this strange situation alongside us.
As for now we have scheduled three more episodes and developed a minimal identity for the series, which you are seeing in action in its Lava skin.
Starting from our pilot episode and going through Silvia’s special web of rabbit holes, we still do not know where we will land precisely. We are still discussing where and how to publish our talks. For now, that’s all but very soon we’ll report you on our findings and somewhere inside that web, we will try to talk our way through our dearest question: WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?
Hope you enjoyed :)
