#12 – Fantastic Green SS25, a field guide to the absurdity of the now
From Burnout to Bruegel — how we built the visual language for our collaboration with MSGM
Emotion collapses into content. Content leaks back to you. You fuse into others. We all wear the same.
The scroll isn’t just distraction, it’s emotional automation.
Tragedy followed by ads.
Humor followed by horror.
We consume it all the same way, with detachment.
Fantastic Green SS25 is a capsule collection designed by Giga for MSGM — where concept and visual direction are shaped not around a specific trend, but around hyper-trends. Titanic tropes demolishing any other type of meaning. Critique is aesthetic. Collapse is an edible, choose your flavour: green-core, burnout-core, collapse-core, default-core, core-core.
We didn’t begin with moodboards.
We dove into overload and replaced nuance with taxonomy.
We knew this risk. We embraced it.
Simplify, they say. We did :)
Fantastic Green SS25 uses the language of -core without landing anywhere.
We thought memes and gave them a front and a back. Avoid statements is Strategy.
🌱 Green-core
Nature is Image. Urgency is Caption. You are Latency.
Eco-anxiety is real — but so is eco-aesthetic.
Today, climate narratives coexist with recycled packaging, brands memefying themselves to stealth, and activism slogans: “save the planet, kill yourself.”
We looked at this collapse of intention.
The capsule doesn’t solve it. IT’S HOT HERE is not a solution. It’s a mood, a warning, and a format for anything you need to express all at once.
☠️ Collapse-core
It’s not the capital-E end. It’s just a new one.
Doom isn’t exceptional anymore. It’s ambient. It’s a hum, branching.
We don’t talk about collapse in headlines. We scroll past it.
Absurdity surpassed drama and is now driving at the seat of intuition.
Bruegel? He was doing it before it was cool.
⏱ Burnout-core
Productivity continues. Even more when nothing else does.
Work culture is remarkably resilient, especially in total erosion. Big Deal.
Grindset-beast-mode-calendarized-trauma shaped cookie is how we live and look.
We don’t rest. We optimize.
BAU! (Business As Usual) became a central statement. It sounds like denial but is just the background noise of our time: a dog barking at hollow MVB diagrams.
⚡️ Overstimulated-core
Three coffees. No lunch. Forty-eight open tabs.
Exhaustion and overstimulation look the same — but feel different. I know, you know, we know better, what do they know? We explored the speed of visual culture, the panic of motion, the interface as an enemy. The horse meme says it best: the body is breaking, but the performance won’t stop.
💸 Money-core
Cute. Desperate. Transactional.
Semio-capitalism is strangely emotional. Money isn’t just a currency — it’s a character, a vibe. From vending machines full of gold bars to cats hugging ATMs, we looked at how value is rendered into an hallucination.
PAY ME! is blunt because it has to be.
There’s nothing subtle about economic survival.
Real is a cartesian plane. Delusion is you, outside of the curve.
🛍 Market-core
The system is the background. The background is the system.
Capitalism no longer presents itself as ideology. It shows up as normalcy.
As lifestyle. As color palette. As tone of voice. As agency.
It’s not a subject to critique. It’s the screen everything else is on.
🧠 Tech-core
Your nervous system lives in your inbox.
Technology is not neutral. It glitches. It ghosts. It drains. The platforms we navigate every day don’t just shape work, they shape us. Don’t you feel edgier than usual?
They split our attention, flatten our emotions and rewire our expectations of presence.
Our work with MSGM wasn’t about finding clarity. It was about how desperately we approach the task. We stayed inside the contradiction long enough to name it: Fantastic Green. The field you want the most, the place you wish to really be: anywhere. The color to cut-and-paste yourself onto like a special FX. Live first, world-build later. Beyondify everything.
We made capsules for a capsule, mirrors into a mirror. Environmental collapse golf courses, burnout culture ice teas, the cult of money anonymous meetings, meme logic transplants, the codes of fashion’s elder scrolls and the social struggles vs AI’s pay-per view brawl fight.
This is what you are wearing now. You are dressed in Research.
It’s wearable Bruegel’s synthetic consciousness cosplaying a commentary on contemporary life: ironic? urgent? desperately digital? Don’t you feel naked all the time?
